We had Girl Group's first, very exciting, week of camp this past June.  Girl Group Summer Camp carried on with our mission to provide concrete tools for being in the world. Our teen mentors and special guests joined us as we explored themes including mindfulness, creativity, friendship and self confidence. Each day included action based activities as well as crafts, writing and group discussion.

Our over arching theme was activation. Girls worked on identifying our on and off switch. Plus, they created calm containers. Everyday we added a new concrete tool to calm themselves to their calm containers.

One of our calming tools was a phonebook. Here the girls let themselves feel catharsis as they tear the phonebook apart.  All the while they are screaming about the things in their life they don't like.

Our special guests included a karate instructor, yoga instructor, acupuncturist, theater maker, visual artist, and dancer.  During camp we learned many things and the girls were encouraged to see all the different ways
